How to Remove Press-On Nails at Home

Press on nails are a convenient way to achieve a salon-worthy manicure at home. Follow these steps for safely removing press on nails.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Before you begin the removal process, make sure you have all the necessary supplies on hand. You will need a cuticle pusher, alcohol (glue remover), buffer, file, cuticle oil, wipes.

Step 2: Push Back Your Cuticle

Use a cuticle pusher gently push back your cuticle from the  press on nails. This will help the alcohol to penetrate the nails more effectively, making the removal process easier.

Step 3: Lifting the Press-On Nail from the Natural Nail

Once you have pushed back your cuticles apply a small amount or 1 drop  of alcohol to the cuticle area. Do this to every nail. Then using the pointed end of the cuticle pusher lift the corner of the press-on nail and continue lifting until the nail comes off with ease. If necessary apply more alcohol to help with removal.

Step 4: Buffing your Natural Nail

After removing all of your press-on nails it is time to remove any glue residue that is left on your natural nail. Using a buffer gently buff the natural nail  until it is free of any glue. Using an alcohol wipe, wipe all of your nails getting rid of the dust and particles from buffing.

Step 5: Cleanse and Moisturize

Once the press on nails are removed and you buffed out any rough edges on your natural nails you can now trim and shape your free edge using a file. File your free edge from corner to middle until you get your desired shape.  Apply cuticle oil to nourish and moisturize the nail bed, helping to restore moisture after the removal process.

By following these expert steps, you can safely and effectively remove press on nails at home without causing damage to your natural nails. Remember to take your time and be gentle throughout the process to keep your nails healthy and strong.
